Dicentra, better known as bleeding heart, is an easy, long-lived perennial. The attractive, mounding plants have lacy foliage and heart-shaped flowers that dangle from slender, arching stems. Old fashioned bleeding heart blooms in spring and the others flower from early through midsummer. All dicentra are deer resistant and attract pollinators, including butterflies.
