A fabulous anemone with deep red petals and a purple heart. Bourdeaux’s blossoms are beautifully shaped and flutter like poppies in the wind. Finely-cut foliage complements the blooms, then dies back during summer while the plants are dormant. The flowers last for up to two weeks in a vase. In areas with mild winters (zones 7-11), anemones should be planted in fall for early spring flowers. Provide protection from freezing temperatures. In colder zones (4-6), plant the bulbs in early spring for early summer flowers.
